Lesson Policy
1. Lesson Structure
Lessons are individualized to support each student’s growth in technique, repertoire, and music theory.

• Intermediate-level students generally transition to 45-minute lessons as repertoire, technique, and theory studies become more advanced.

3. Attendance & Cancellation Policy
Regular attendance is essential for steady musical progress.
Students are expected to attend their weekly lesson consistently.
Monthly tuition reserves each student’s exclusive lesson time, and tuition is not reduced, refunded, or credited for missed lessons.
Lessons that fall on studio-observed holidays are not included in the monthly tuition.
4. Missed Lessons
If a student needs to miss a lesson, please notify the studio by the day before the scheduled time.
Advance notice allows the studio to arrange a makeup lesson, which should be scheduled and completed within the same calendar month.
If no makeup is scheduled or completed within that month, the lesson cannot be credited or refunded.
• Same-day cancellations and no-shows are charged in full and are not eligible for makeup or refund.
• Same-day rescheduling is not available. If a student cannot attend at the scheduled time, the lesson is considered missed.
• Makeup lessons are offered with advance notice and are subject to studio availability.
Once arranged, a missed or canceled makeup lesson cannot be rescheduled or credited.
• Exceptions may be considered for sudden illness, injury, or family emergencies, at the director’s discretion.
Please note: In this policy, any canceled lesson is considered a missed lesson.
Advance notice provides the opportunity for a makeup, but tuition is not credited or refunded for any absence.
5. Makeup Lessons
Makeup lessons provide an opportunity for students to maintain steady progress and consistency in their studies.
Because lesson times are reserved in advance, makeup lessons are available only under specific conditions and within the same calendar month.
• One Makeup Per Month:
Each student is allowed one makeup lesson per month, provided the studio is notified by the day before the scheduled lesson.
• Scheduling:
All makeup lessons must be scheduled and completed within the same calendar month as the original missed lesson.
• Additional Makeups:
Additional makeups are not guaranteed and may be offered only at the studio’s discretion, depending on scheduling availability and prior notice.
• Missed or Canceled Makeups:
Missed or canceled makeup lessons cannot be rescheduled or refunded.
• Instructor Assignment:
Makeup lessons may occasionally be taught by another qualified instructor instead of the director, depending on availability.
Makeup lessons are offered as a courtesy and scheduled based on availability.
Families are encouraged to prioritize their regular weekly schedule, as makeup times are limited.
6. Summer Schedule (June–August)
Summer months often include family travel, camps, and changing schedules. To help accommodate these seasonal changes, the studio offers limited scheduling flexibility during June–August.
• Flexibility applies only during the summer session (June–August).
• From September through May, all missed lessons follow the regular attendance policy.
• Families are encouraged to maintain consistent lessons throughout the summer whenever possible, as regular attendance helps students retain progress and momentum.
• If travel plans arise, makeup lessons or adjusted lesson times may be offered based on availability.
• Students taking an extended summer break may not be guaranteed their preferred fall time slot upon return.
• Summer lesson schedules and tuition will be arranged in advance based on each family’s anticipated availability.
• Please share summer travel plans early so we can coordinate schedules efficiently for all students.

Please make every effort to arrive on time so your child can enjoy the full benefit of each lesson.
9. Discontinuing Lessons
A one-month notice is required before discontinuing lessons.
A final meeting between the teacher, parent, and student is encouraged for a positive conclusion.
